Updatage!

I'm getting ready to head up to my Welsh Study Abroad Prep class, but I was feeling like it would be fun to put a little update on here. The Welsh prep is going well. Last class period we learned all about the Anglo-Saxons, and this class period ought to be on the Early Middle Ages. We usually get to watch a cool, historical movie in each class period.

As far as my story goes, it's coming along. I now have about 20,000-22,000 words, so I'm about as far as I got on Shards of Night. Still no name for this one though. It's cool to think that I've written as many words in three months or so as I did in the past 6-8 months-ish before that. I don't remember exactly when I started working on Shards of Night, but it's been a while. Now that I've gotten into the habit of writing at least 2,000 words a week, I would love to double that or something. I may have to wait until my schedule clears up a bit in the spring to do that, but it would be totally awesome.

And I probably won't finish my story before June or July or whenever it was that I wanted to have it done by. In another three months, if my pace is the same, I'll have about 40,000 words total. That's a good chunk, but not enough to have it finished. And then I'll have to do rewrites. I'm not sure how many words this thing is going to be, but 40,000 is too low. I think 90,000-ish would be a good number to shoot for, but I don't want to get ahead of myself. It may only be 70,000 or so.

Oh, I turned 21, thank you very much. I now need a new driver's license, and it won't say "under 21" in huge, red letters anymore. Did I go out and get wasted? Well, the short answer is no, and the long answer is, really, no. The closest thing I've ever come to drunkenness is the drunk goggles they let you wear in ninth grade or so. You put them on and they're supposed to make everything disoriented, like you're drunk and then you walk through a little obstacle course. Anyway, I go to BYU, basically the #1 stone cold sober university, and I like it that way. Well, I'd better look over my reading for class. Peace out--
